Service Description

Kennel Club Good Citizen Progression Class - 6 Week Course Our Kennel Club Good Citizen Progression Class is designed for clients who have previously undertaken a KCGC class with us and wish to continue advancing their dog’s training. This course focuses on refining your dog’s existing skills while introducing new challenges that will help further their development under the Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme (KCGCDS). Eligibility This class is for those who have previously undertaken a KCGC class with us. Course Overview Over the 6-week course, we will cover: Control Around Other Dogs and People: Enhancing your dog’s social skills and manners in various situations. Road Walking: Ensuring safe and controlled walks near traffic, promoting calmness in busy environments. Play & Engagement: Strengthening the bond between you and your dog through focused interaction. On-Lead Walking: Teaching your dog to walk calmly and politely on a lead. Recall from Distractions: Improving your dog’s ability to come back when called, even in challenging environments. Food Manners: Promoting patience and appropriate behaviour around food. Stays: Building your dog's patience and control through extended stay exercises. Handling and Examination: Preparing your dog to be comfortably handled and examined by others. Settle in a Vehicle: Teaching your dog to settle down calmly in a vehicle, making travel stress-free. This class will prepare participants to meet the standards required for tests, with skills that will also serve as a foundation for those aiming to work towards the next level in the future. What to Bring: Flat Collar or Harness Lead: Non-retractable, no slip leads. Treats: A selection of your dog's favourite treats (moist treats like sausages work best). Toy: Your dog’s favourite toy. Dog Bowl & Water Poo Bags Mat/Bed: For your dog to settle on. Note: Perfect Fit Harnesses, Training Leads, Toys, and Treats are available for purchase at the training venue. Class Guidelines: Water and Bowl: Please bring your own. Attendance: Only registered dogs may attend. Leads: Keep your dog on lead at all times within the grounds. Designated Walking Area: Walk dogs on lead only in the designated area. Clean Up: Please clean up after your dog and use the provided bins or take poo bags with you. Behavioural Concerns: If your dog barks or lunges at other dogs or people, please contact us to discuss 1-2-1 training to prepare them for the class environment.
