UK Dog Sports Novice Course 6 Week Course UK Dog Sports (UKDS) is an exciting sport that combines elements of Obedience, Nosework, and Agility, providing a challenging and engaging experience for dogs and handlers alike. Our Novice Course is designed to be accessible to all participants, whether you're new to these activities or have some prior experience. Why Choose the UKDS? This course is perfect for anyone looking to dive into the world of UK Dog Sports or advance their current skills. The Novice Course offers a variety of exercises that will challenge both you and your dog, helping you to develop stronger teamwork, improve obedience, and refine agility and scent work techniques. At the end of the course, you’ll have the opportunity to participate in our ClickStart Dog Sport Awards at the Novice level, where you can earn a certificate and badge, giving you a taste of what UKDS competitions are like across the UK. What You Will Need: Flat Collar Lead: Non-retractable, no slip leads Selection of Favourite Treats: Bring four times as many as you think your dog will need; moist treats like sausages work best! Favourite Toy Clicker: Optional, but useful for training Dumbbell: For retrieve exercises Dog Bowl & Water Poo Bags Mat/Bed Note: Perfect Fit Harnesses, Training Leads, Toys, and Treats are available for purchase at the training venue. Class Guidelines: Bring Your Own Water: Please bring your own water and bowl. Attendance: Only dogs registered in the class may attend. Leash Requirements: Keep your dog on lead at all times within the grounds. Designated Walking Area: Please walk your dogs on lead only in the designated area. Clean Up: Ensure you clean up after your dog and take poo bags home with you or use the bins provided. Behavioural Concerns: If your dog tends to bark or lunge at other dogs or people, please contact us to discuss 1-2-1 training to help prepare them for the class environment.
